REQUISITES AND AMMISSION TO THE CALL

The Course of University Master has a fixed number of students.

The minimum number of students required for activation of the Course is 8, whereas the maximum number is 20.

Admission to the Course depends on overcoming a selection test, open to graduates (5-years degree) in scientific disciplines from Italian and foreign Universities, belonging to the following disciplines:

Environmental Sciences, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Natural Sciences, Biotechnology, Earth Sciences, Environmental Engineering, Engineering, Mathematics, Pharmaceutical Sciences and Technologies, Agricultural Sciences.

Those wishing admission to the Course have to present an application by filling in the form "B/11" (www.unipr.it/studenti/modulistica/#8), enclosing the following:

1) For candidates having obtained a laurea in Italy, self-certification or certification of the University degree with final mark;
2) For Italian or foreign candidates, with a degree which has not been issued in Italy: certification accompanied by an official translation into Italian, legalised and with value certification by Italian Diplomatic Offices of the country where the degree has been obtained; the above is for recognition of the degree only in view of subscription to the University Master course;

Copy of the fiscal code and of a valid personal identity document;

Receipt for the admission fee of EUR 25,82 to be deposited at an agency of the bank Cassa di Risparmio di Parma e Piacenza.

Qualifications sent for evaluation (Documents have to be produced compulsorily either in Italian or in English)

a paper in English or in Italian (max. 10000 characters) describing motivations, planning abilities and aptitudes for the subjects of the Master

The application and the attached documents must reach within the deadline of 6 November 2008 the Servizio Master e Formazione Permanente of the University of Parma, by one of the following means:

Brought by the candidate or a delegate to Servizio Master e Formazione Permanente, Via Volturno 39, Parma;

Sent as registered post with return receipt, addressed to Servizio Master e Formazione Permanente, Via Volturno 39, Parma;

It is not allowed to send applications by fax or e-mail.

If the application is posted, it must reach the Servizio Master e Formazione Permanente within the appointed deadline.

The administration accepts no responsibility for problems concerning applications which have not been delivered by the candidate him/herself.

The administration has the right of excluding, in any phase of the procedure, candidates who have sent incomplete applications.

SELECTION PROCEDURES, EXAM, ADMISSION TO THE COURSE

In order to select candidates who could be admitted to the Course, an appointed Commission will produce a ranking of eligible candidates on the basis of a score assigned according to:

evaluation of the qualifications;

evaluation of a motivation paper.

Participants obtaining the highest scores will be admitted to the Master Course.

In case of ties, precedence will be given to the participant with a higher score in the paper evaluation; if the tie remains, theparticipant with the higher degree mark will win and only if the tie still remains the younger one will be favoured.
